Plastic Material Classification for Pin Headers & Female Headers

1. PBT Plastic

PBT is a cost-effective material known for its good strength and friction resistance.However,it has poor formability and high shrinkage during molding. Its relatively low melting point can also cause issues during wave soldering.

2. NYLON Plastic

NYLON offers a low cost and high tensile strength,with excellent wear resistance and self-lubrication.It has good flow properties for thin-wall molding but suffers from significant shrinkage and potential for burrs. It requires strict pre-drying before molding.NYLON is commonly used for standard pin header connector and female header connector products, especially for DIP applications.

3. LCP Plastic

LCP features a small coefficient of thermal expansion and very low molding shrinkage. It provides outstanding strength, modulus, and heat resistance, with a heat deflection temperature that can exceed 340°C. It also resists chemicals and offers excellent wear resistance. Due to these properties, LCP is the preferred choice for electronics Connector products that must withstand SMT soldering processes.
